The Series 1 BR-FS reels bring freespool capability to the Agitator range, meaning deadbait and catfish anglers now have reels to match the extensive range of BR and CR rods designed for those situations.
As the brand grows so has the demand for a set of reliable and tough fixed spool reels that can cater for the needs of the bait angler; the BR-FS reels do just that, offering an impressive specification for their humble price tag!
Three reel sizes are available - 5500, 6500 and 8500 - and all offer a fully adjustable freespool mode, controlled by a micro adjust knob on the rear of the reel body to ensure that line can be taken without resistance, with mode engagement taken care of by a large rear switch on the body - pull the switch out so it’s visible and you're in freespool mode. Once the handle is turned, the lever click back to sit next to the body and you're in regular mode and able to engage with the fish.
Internally there's a corrosion-resistant main gear, an oversized spindle and zinc-alloy construction to withstand the harshness of mixed environment use. There are 5+1 stainless steel bearings for smooth retrieve and a carbon drag that can handle up to 14kg of force. The aluminium spool - supplied with the reel in black but also available in a retro-inspired gold - is a long cast design so will handle casting big baits without any issues of bedding in.
RRPs go from SRP £74.99 to £89.99 for the reels, with spare spools priced from between £12.99 to £15.99 and are all available for retailers to order now and will be part of the wider Agitator display at iceTackle* 2025.
